Packaging

The Packaging category at Simply Green holds packaging sold by the case: containers and glass jars for flower and extracts, pre-roll tubes, cartridge packaging for a filled 510 cartridge, and resealable storage bags. Every product page carries its capacity or length, its label area and its case size.

What the category holds

  • Bottles and jars. Child-resistant containers from 30 to 240 ml, plus 9 ml glass jars, round or square, in matte black, matte white or clear.
  • Tubes. Pre-roll tubes from 65 to 116 mm, with a child-resistant screw cap or a pop-top lid.
  • Cartridges and device packaging. A child-resistant container for a filled 510 cartridge up to 65 mm long, on a threaded holder.
  • Pouches and bags. Resealable odour-control bags in 3 sizes, 102 x 152 mm, 178 x 190 mm and 215 x 255 mm, boxed for resale.

How to choose

  • Start from what goes inside. Flower and extracts go in a container or a jar, 1 pre-roll in a tube, a filled 510 cartridge in cartridge packaging, finished goods on the shelf in a bag.
  • Containers and jars are chosen on capacity. By our own estimate, 30 ml holds about a gram of flower, 90 ml an eighth, 150 ml a quarter and 240 ml a half ounce. Fill weight changes with how dense and how dry the flower is, so work from the millilitre figure.
  • Tubes are chosen on length. 65, 100 and 115 mm come with a child-resistant cap, 98 and 116 mm with a pop-top. Each tube page gives the longest pre-roll it takes.
  • Decide whether you need child resistance. The child-resistant formats are the Chubby Gorilla containers, screw-cap tubes and cartridge packaging. The pop-top tubes, the glass jars and the bags are plain. Requirements differ by market, so check what yours asks for.
  • Check the label area against your artwork. Every container and tube lists its label area in millimetres. Where 2 sizes hold about the same it decides the choice: the 240 ml container takes a 157 x 110 mm panel, the 220 ml XL a 270 x 28 mm band.
  • Then the case size. Cases run from 20 pieces up to 500, and bags 6 or 12 to a box, so a format can be trialled before it goes on a line.

Closures

  • Child-resistant cap. Opens on a push and a turn together.
  • Tamper-evident band. Breaks off the cap on first opening and latches to the neck, so a customer can see the pack was opened.
  • Liner. A disc inside the cap that presses on the neck and seals in the odour. The pop-top tubes seal with a ring moulded into the lid and carry no band.
